Randy Morton was born and raised in Texas. He grew up in Somerset, TX, population 880. One of four children he is very proud of his siblings. His older sister, Ellen, taught math in public schools for 33 years. Pamela, his younger sister, is a Professor of Mathematics at Stephen F. Austin University. His younger brother, Ron, is an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon in Dallas.
Dr. Morton graduated class Valedictorian in 1971 from Somerset High School. He attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcus both as an undergraduate and graduate student studying microbiology and biochemistry. After his medical education at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, he completed his five year surgical residency at Saint Paul Medical Center in Dallas. He moved to Longview in 1988 and began his surgical practice.
Dr. Morton lives on his lake outside of Longview with his wife, Melissa, and
children, Stuart, Jillian and Kendall. He enjoys fishing, spending time with his
family and taking care of his patients.
